Dr. Yamada joins the practice from the University of Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, where he recently completed a one-year cornea fellowship under the instruction of Dr. James P. McCulley and Dr. H. Dwight Cavanagh, two of the pioneers in eye surgery. Prior to his fellowship, he completed an internship at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego and his ophthalmology residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. He is licensed to practice medicine and surgery in California and Texas.

A native San Diegan, Alberto has been chief optician at the practice since 1993. He specializes in fitting glasses and contact lenses and is well-known in the Hillcrest area for providing superior optical service. He supervises a well-stocked optical shop with all the latest frames and would be happy to assist you with your needs, including contact lens orders. In his spare time, Alberto enjoys spending time with his family and watching his son play soccer.
