You must be at least 18 years of age or older. Your eyes should not have any pre-existing disease and your glasses or contact lens prescription should be stable for the past year.
You can consider LASIK if your prescription is between -1 to -10 diopters of myopia, up to +5 diopters of hyperopia, and up to 5 diopters of astigmatism.
How is the surgery performed?
Using a blade or laser, a flap or corneal tissue is created. The flap is then folded over and laser applied to the exposed surface. When the laser treatment is finished, the corneal flap is replaced. The entire process takes just a few minutes.

What can I expect during and after surgery?
Because anesthetic drops are used, you should feel no pain during the procedure. After the procedure, we do encourage you to go home and rest while keeping your eyes closed.
Many people report stinging of the eyes for several hours after LASIK. The good news is that this discomfort is temporary. You will need to resist the temptation to rub or touch your eyes until your LASIK surgery is healed.
The most serious risk of LASIK surgery is sight-threatening infection. Other complications include but are not limited to dry eyes, scarring, chronic eye pain or discomfort, glare and/or haloes around lights, and decreased vision in low-lighting conditions and in particular at night.
